Why Significant Educators exists
We begin with the student.
Significant Educators was built around a simple idea: students do better when the support fits the person — not when the person is forced to fit the program. That means we don't begin with a package, a preset schedule, or whoever happens to be available.
I'm Eric Sigman, founder of Significant Educators. I've spent more than 30 years in education as a teacher, administrator, and K–12 STEM leader. I've worked directly with the College Board and was featured on NPR member station WSHU for my work in education. Listen to the story →
But the idea behind Significant Educators came from something much more personal. I'm also the parent of four very different kids. They didn't learn the same way. They didn't respond to the same kind of support. What motivated one could completely shut down another.
That experience reinforced something I had already seen throughout my career: there is no standard student. So there shouldn't be a standard way to support them.
